I study the use of health information technology (IT) by individuals and organizations with the aim to improve the usability and accessibility of health IT design.
My research goal is to be an advocate for users. Too often, technology is designed without a comprehensive understanding of the users’ experiences and goals or it is designed for the general population and neglects underrepresented user groups.
By using qualitative research methods and user experience design principles, I place users at the center of my research so that the design of health IT can be more effective at helping users meet their goals and be more inclusive to a wider range of users.
